Please help, my dog is in a lot of pain?
Q. My dog has always had problems with his ears. We've payed money to get them deep cleaned and we clean them at home but, they always get bad again with in 3 days. This time around it's gotten worse, and he scratches at it like crazy and he's made it so raw. He's become very moody with the other dogs. Our last dog that was 14 years old had seizures, and the vet gave him Valium (Diazepam)5mg but, he pasted away and we still have the meds, could i maybe give him a half of one to just relax him until Monday? Or what can i do to comfort him? Please help He's a mutt, as big as a lab or a little bigger and weights about 75 - 80 pounds He's 5 years old. - info you may want

A. Go to Amazon and read the reviews on Zymox Otic. I have one who has had cronic ear infectioons all of her 12 yrs. I started using Zymox about 2 yrs ago. It's cleared up every infection she has had since then. She had even got to the point where the vets meds no longer cleared her up. I'm sure that stores local to you also sell Zymox. Call and find out. This stuff works! Another thing to do is to read your dog food bag. Many foods have corn as the first ingredient. Corn is a known allergin and can cause ear infections. The first ingredient on you bag should be meat. There should be no corn, wheat, or soy.

Nonexpensive allergy dog food?
Q. My pit Turbo has yeast infections constantly, vet says food allergies..not sure on dog food? My dog has constant yeast ear infections every couple months. I give him meds vet gives me. Vet says food allergies, she reccomends Prescription Science Diet. (meaning she has to give me a prescriotion in order to get this dog food from this company) I cant afford $60 a bag for dog food. I've switched dog food from Purina to Pedigree. I've started giving him bottled water..Took away doggie treats, raw hides, vitamins, carpet cleaner, cleaned carpets and started giving him benadryl that vet recommend...Im running out of opitions. I hate that he keeps scratching, shaking his head, whining..dont notice a smell. One ear is always the worst, other ear… [cont.]

A. i have just started my allergic dog on natures balance limited ingredient diet sweet potato and fish ... a bag is about 13 dollars when the food i fed her before was more like 20 dollars a bag so i find it is a good deal ... and it has no grains ... my dog was on allergy medication including prednisone and antihistamines for over ten years and now on this food she is off all medication ... my dog also had repeated eye and ear infections, scratching to the point of trauma, and all that is no more ... there are several limited ingredient diets, you should chose one you can afford, and do not under any circumstance buy the science diet ... that is the worst and to be honest purina and pedigree are very poor choices for dog food ... they are… [cont.]
