Nature of Love Answers
What part of nature you love best?
Q. I love it's sounds. Sound of singing birds, sound of streaming water, sound of weaving leaves. I love sounds of nature.

A. There is nothing more relaxing than hearing the waves at the ocean. I lived on a private beach for 9 years and every morning when I would come home from work {done auditing at night} it was so very hard to go inside and get sleep. I would get my coffee and sit right there on the bay and just listen to the soft waves for hours.

Is love nature's way of tricking us into reproducing?
Q.

A. Most people reproduce with someone they don't stick around with. Maybe that's why so many adults are confused people. Heck, their parents didn't even know what they wanted.

If one doesn't believe in God, then what is the nature of Love?
Q. Atheists and Belivers alike please answer. Please no mocking of others views. If one does not believe in God or a divine being then what exactly is love? Is love then only a bunch of chemical reactions in our brain that trick us to mate with a person long enough to raise a child successfully? Is our perceive love for our significant others then only an illusion? What implications does this have for us then?
Asked by dirtyhippy65 - Wed Sep 23 10:36:43 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 14 Answers - Comments
A. If there is no God, then the feeling of love is simply within us because of natural selection, and it is a complete illusion. If it is nothing more than a chemical reaction that has sustained humans, why is our longing for love so intense? Isna t it more plausible to believe that a God of love made us in His image? Or if there is no God, then why are human rights so important to societies? Do they just happen to be there (a huge leap of faith), or are they the result of the fact that a God of justice and goodness made the universe with certain absolute rights and wrongs? If God exists, then all these things make perfect sense. But if there is no God, then to believe in them are big leaps in the dark. If your premise (God does not exist)… [cont.]

God wants us to love nature?
Q. I believe God put us here to live in harmony with His creations; humanity AND nature. to love others, be unselfish with others by being giving and spreading Gods message, AND living a life of adventure, because, lets face it, we all love adventure. But if it wasnt for society trying to take away our passion and conform us into lifeless business men, more of us would have an affinity for nature and traveling to see Gods artistry. anyone agree??

A. Many social activities are just fronts for people networking. You can get accustomed to attending a few of these functions when it serves your purpose. I had an elderly friend that was on the board of a major oil co. His last assignment before retirement was in Washington DC. Sort of like a lobbyist. He and his wife were invited to many functions. They would tell their driver to be back in 20 minutes. They would go through the reception line, make small talk for a few minutes then sneak out to their waiting car. A. The first might be that because people can feel emotions and pick up on others thoughts, affectionate feelings and thoughts like love can be picked up on. The thoughts he's having about flowers and flower beds are affectionate thoughts about love that is felt by the woman and may have looked his way. That happens to me occasionally. The second might be saying that she responded not because she knew or wanted to know the two questions but because of the feelings of love. His silent voice isn't his mental thoughts but his heart; the heart has it's own intelligence and voice beyond thought.

Any classic literature on the nature of unrequited love?
Q. Alright, so I'm in the mood for a delicious anti-romance revolving around unrequited love that is tasteful and poised. No Harlequin novels, thanks! I would prefer if it was the woman pining over an aloof man. Also, novels focusing on envy between women work well, too. I want something with a dash of drama without mimicking your generic soap opera.

A. 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens has many of the elements that you want; except it's a man pining over an aloof woman. 'Wuthering Heights' is a good one too. More depressing, though. Wow. There's a lot a classic books that have those elements in them. 'The Count of Monte Cristo' and 'Les Miserables', especially the later, have plenty of those elements. For a quick read, I would suggest 'Great Expectations', as it has a more up-beat feel to it. One of the main themes of the book is unrequited love.

Do you believe that love is just nature's way of propagating the species?
Q. Do you think the human emotion of love actually exists? It's really just a dopaminergic release in our brains and that's it. The whole point of life is to pro-create...so is love just nature's way of propagating the species? We are basically the only animals that have some form of love...is it really love...or do we just want to think there's something more than sex?
Asked by Melissa N - Sun Nov 23 22:59:07 2008 - Gender & Women's Studies - 11 Answers - Comments
A. Of course not. It is pretty obvious by the amount of casual sex going on in our society that love has nothing to do with propagating the species. We are more than capable of popping sperm into one another without being in love. Love is a totally different animal; something bigger and better than mere sex. I don't buy the overly-simplist ic biological explanation for love. It sure explains the sex! But it doesn't even come close to explaining the relationship I have with my wife or family or friends.
